Rhodochrosite with Amethyst from the Boldut mine, Romania. This specimen is just stunning with its pink botryoidal Rhodochrosite crystals accented well against the lustrous, gemmy light purple Amethyst. The Rhodochrosite has grown in bands which can be seen on the side of the matrix and is topped with the Amethyst overgrowths. The Amethyst crystals are highly lustrous and with sharp terminations. There are a couple of areas where the Rhodochrosite pokes through the Amethyst. A great specimen and not often seen in the market place.
