A plate of well defined Gold crystals from a recent small find in Georgetown Queensland. This specimen is comprised of numerous crystals, most of which are flattened and elongate octahedrons with skeletal growth. They have grown in an arborescent formation and exhibit spinel twinning.
All of these specimens appear to be Supergene Gold and were collected from an area no more than 50cm in diameter and just over a metre deep.
Measures 14 x 8x 1.2mm and weighs 0.46 grams.
