Gold in matrix

Here is a very interesting specimen!

It is comprised of heavily weathered Rhyolite, Calcrete, an unidentified clay mineral and of course Gold.  The Gold itself is Bright buttery yellow with good lustre and presents well perched on top of the matrix.

Measures 45 x 28 x 22mm and the Gold measures approx. 19mm in length.
